Hi everyone,

My name is Mumen. I was born and raised in Sudan, I grew up in Sudan and have been calling Vancouver home for nearly seven years now. I speak both English and Arabic, with English being my first language. I’m currently in my fourth year of Computer Science at UVic, on track to graduate in spring 2027

I’m really passionate about cybersecurity and related fields like computer networks, databases, and data mining. What I love about these subjects is how they use technical ideas to solve real problems that happen in the world. When I’m not studying, you’ll probably find me at the gym, on a soccer field or basketball court, or gaming.

I’ve had a chance to work with multimedia in education before, in EDCI 335. That was a couple of years ago, but I really enjoyed it. We got to make websites, dashboards, and charts, and even create visual explanations for things. I think using multimedia like that can really make learning more interesting. It’s not just about reading text, you can show ideas in different ways, like with pictures or videos. That can help people understand things better. In this class, I’m hoping to learn more about how multimedia can help with learning and communication. I’m also excited to hear about what other people have done with technology in education. It’s always great to see how different people use these tools and learn from their experiences.
